ACEE supports open scholarship by encouraging authors to deposit their manuscripts—accepted or published versions—in institutional or subject repositories immediately upon publication. This practice aligns with open-access principles and enhances research visibility.

Self-Archiving Rights

  • Authors retain copyright and may archive the accepted manuscript or published version without embargo.
  • Deposits may be made in any repository—such as institutional, disciplinary, or governmental archives.
  • Standard citation and acknowledgment to the original ACEE publication must accompany any repository upload.

Metadata Accessibility

ACEE makes full metadata (including DOI, authors, title, abstract) openly available via indexing services and repositories. The metadata exposure ensures long-term discoverability and interoperability with external systems.

OAI‑PMH Harvesting

ACEE provides a robust OAI‑PMH interface that enables repositories and discovery services to harvest article metadata, ensuring seamless integration with institutional and global repository platforms.

Article Processing Charges & Waivers

ACEE charges an Article Processing Charge (APC) only upon acceptance. Manuscripts are handled through submission and review processes free of fee. Full or partial APC waivers are available based on authors’ country classification and financial need, ensuring equitable access to publishing.

Refund & Withdrawal Alignment

  • If an accepted manuscript is withdrawn before peer review begins, no charges apply.
  • Withdrawal after plagiarism checking or peer review may incur administrative fees.
  • Repository deposits remain unaffected by withdrawal—metadata for withdrawn articles is clearly marked as such in institutional systems.

Institutional & Funder Compliance

Our Repository Policy supports research funders and academic institutions by enabling compliance with open access mandates and repository submission requirements. Authors retain flexibility and control over how their work is shared and preserved.
