Article Processing Charges
Important Update: Article Processing Charges (APCs) across HSPI journals have been revised from USD 2,589 to USD 2,949 to support our continued commitment to high-quality Open Access publishing.
Vision & Value
At ACEE, we believe that published research should be accessible to all for maximum intellectual benefit. All articles are made freely available online, without access restrictions.
Why We Charge APCs
APC revenues cover the variable costs of high‑quality open access publication—including peer‑review coordination, editorial support, typesetting, online hosting, indexing, archiving, promotional outreach, and citation enhancement services.
Waivers & Discounts
We offer waivers or discounts based on the following criteria:
- The quality of data interpretation and analysis
- The rigor and suitability of analytical methods
- The uniqueness and relevance of manuscript objectives
- Thorough consideration of ethical aspects
Up to 50% waiver may be granted to authors with genuine need—particularly those based in underdeveloped countries. Waiver or discount requests must be submitted at the time of manuscript submission.
No Hidden or Submission Fees
ACEE does not charge submission fees or add hidden costs. APCs only apply to accepted manuscripts. There are no additional fees for figures, color printing, or supplementary data. Rejected articles incur no charges.
Eligibility for Waiver
Authors based in countries classified by the World Bank as low-income or lower-middle-income are eligible for waivers. Proof of eligibility must be provided during submission.
APC Payment Details
Upon acceptance, authors are invoiced for the APC. Publication proceeds upon payment confirmation. The following table outlines the current APC for ACEE:
Journal Name | Short Name | ISSN | APC (USD) |
---|---|---|---|
Annals of Civil and Environmental Engineering | ACEE | 2574‑0350 | 2,949 |
Future Submissions & Waiver Use
Waivers granted under legitimate circumstances do not affect eligibility for future submissions. However, misuse of waiver or discount mechanisms—such as unwarranted withdrawal after acceptance—may affect future waiver eligibility.
