Charges Policy
ACEE follows a transparent and fair charges policy focused on article processing charges (APCs) only when manuscripts are accepted. There are no fees for submission, initial review, or editorial handling.
Article Processing Charges (APCs)
APCs are levied solely upon formal acceptance of a manuscript. Authors are required to pay the APC to support peer review management, typesetting, online publication, indexing, and long-term archiving.
No Submission or Hidden Fees
Initial manuscript submission, peer review evaluation, and editorial decisions are entirely free of charge. ACEE does not impose page charges, colour figure fees, or any undisclosed costs.
Waiver & Discount Policy
To support equitable access, ACEE offers partial waivers for authors from low- and lower-middle-income countries. Waivers are assessed on a case-by-case basis and are granted independently of the APC obligation.
Invoice & Payment Terms
APC invoices are issued after formal acceptance. Payment must be completed before publication. ACEE accepts multiple currencies and payment methods, and compliant receipts are provided for institutional reimbursement.
Effects on Future Submissions
Authors who receive waivers or refunds within policy may submit future manuscripts without penalty. However, misuse of the waiver or refund process—such as unwarranted withdrawals—may affect eligibility for future discounts.
Why We Charge APCs
APCs fund essential journal services that ensure quality, discoverability, and ethical integrity: expert peer review coordination, copyediting, typesetting, content hosting, DOI registration, indexing, and digital preservation.
